GSE will unveil ink handling and software innovations for corrugated packaging converters at SuperCorrExpo 2024, at the booth of its North America distributor, UPrint Technologies (booth 2582, Orange County Convention Center, Orlando, Florida, 8-12 September, 2024). Innovation highlights include a modular conveyor system that automates bucket transport around the ink dispenser, a new software integration module for seamless data exchange between OMP planning software and GSE Ink manager, and a Windows 11 Upgrade service for GSE products.

New Modular Conveyor System Enhances Ergonomics and Productivity
The new modular conveyor system provides safe and efficient transport of ink containers, within the ink kitchen. This new system streamlines the preparation of colours for production in the packaging printing house, improving both ergonomics and workflow efficiency. With its extendible, push-rolling system, the conveyor provides a single-pass solution for dispensing, optional blending and batch labelling, after which the container is offloaded for delivery to the press or to storage.
The conveyor handles 25L and 60L buckets, and 200L drums, and is customizable to meet specific height requirements, space availability and throughput levels.
Compatible with GSE’s Colorsat Compact dispensing system, the conveyor is especially suited for wide web and corrugated applications where large volumes of ink are processed.
New GSE Advanced reporting module
During the show, GSE will introduce the redesign of its software program, GSE Advanced reporting. The new version makes it possible to automatically send reports from the dispensing machine, giving businesses deeper insights into their ink consumption. Learn more at the show, when there will be a full announcement about this development in reporting software!
Software Integration Module
In addition GSE introduces a software module that enables seamless data exchange between GSE Ink manager software and OMP, a digitalized supply chain planning solution designed for corrugated printers.
The integration module can be custom-designed to exchange customer order data including order quantities, ink formulation data and base ink weights for customer’s print jobs, from the OMP planning system to GSE Ink manager software. This seamless data exchange allows fast color preparation at the dispenser without a paper trail, or repeated data entry, reducing administration and enabling operators to focus on higher value tasks.
GSE’s programme of Colorsat dispensing systems set the standard for fast, accurate dispensing of spot colours with flexo, gravure and screen inks. Systems, available for UV, aqueous and solvent inks, feature easily exchangeable parts such as valves and may be extended with extra base ink containers once installed. Benefits are reduced setup times, reduced ink consumption, reproducible spot colour on-demand, a cleaner kitchen and better stock management. GSE’s Ink manager software includes a suite of optional packages for simplifying the handling of ink in the print workflow, including inventory control, reusing press return inks, traceability, and creating or modifying ink recipes, among others.
Windows 11 Upgrade Service for Global Dispenser and Software Installations
In the 4th quarter of 2024, GSE will introduce a service for upgrading its global installed base of Colorsat ink dispensing systems and Ink manager software to Windows 11. The initiative will ensure GSE’s customers benefit from the enhanced security and performance provided by the latest Windows operating system.
With Microsoft ending support for Windows 10 in 2025, this timely upgrade will protect GSE ink dispensing equipment and software from emerging cybersecurity threats, while optimizing system performance.
Onno Deen comments: “At GSE, we are committed to driving innovation that enhances the efficiency and safety of ink-related operations in the packaging printing house. The new modular conveyor system, software integration module, and Windows 11 upgrade service are just a few examples of how we continue to evolve our solutions to meet the changing needs of the packaging printing industry. We look forward to unveiling these developments at SuperCorrExpo 2024, and showing how they can help corrugated board converters stay efficient and responsive in an increasingly service-driven e market.”
